Creative Writing FINAL!!!

This class has been one of my favorites throughout my entire four year high school career. I enjoyed the class because it didn’t follow the text book standard where we were forced to sit in our seats all hour and listen to a lecture or do book work. I liked how all of our assignments were so open ended and we had the option of basically writing about whatever we wanted. I feel as though this class also helped me grow as a person and help me further discover who I am. I learned how to express myself through writing and say whatever I wanted and it was a good way of venting whatever was on my mind for the day.
I would highly recommend this class to anyone who is considering it or to anyone who just simply needs to fill a class in their schedule because it is a good class for anyone. I also think it’s a great class whether you like to write or not because as I said before it doesn’t follow the standard writing class format where you must apply proper grammar and English skills. It was a very open ended class and I loved all the blogging because it allowed me to write about anything, and when I say anything I mean anything because I wrote about everything from sports to school to work to even strings.
Aside from the blogging we also did numerous other assignments which were also very open ended such as poetry, short stories, and even writing a script for a movie and then filming it. I learned about numerous poetry formats such as the sonnet and pantoum. I enjoyed writing short stories also because it could have been about anything as long as in the end the main character ended up learning some type of moral lessons. Then there was the movie! The film project which we did at the end of the year was the best because we got to first, choose who we wanted to work with then second, write our own no holds bared script, then finally, film it. It involved much work outside of school but it was all fun times and we ended up making the funniest movie Walled Lake Central has ever seen. We did a wide array of projects and assignments but it was all fun because the basis of the class centered around being open ended and writing about whatever you wanted.
Even though the class was fun and I was kind of forced to take it as a graduation requirement I sill loved it and I now call it one of my favorites. Even though I enjoyed the class and all the writing formats it wouldn’t have been the same without the teacher though. Ms. Eastman was a first year teacher and she did an amazing job in her “rookie” year. There were times when we were out of control and out of line (which I do apologize for) but she managed to keep control and run one of my favorite classes ever.
If I had the opportunity to take the class all over again I definitely would. It was a very friendly environment and a great class for self discovery and self expression and the teacher was great!!!
I’ll miss you Ms. Eastman!!!
Good luck!!!

Rainy Days

The last three days of this week have been completely misserable. Lucky for me i worked two of those three days so i didnt have to experience the bad weather since i work inside. I enjoy working on rainy days more than nice days since when its a rainy day i dont out on a chance to have fun that day. The only problem with working on rainy days is that it is extremely slow. When it rains for some reason people dont come in because it was dead slow the last two times i worked. On a normal run of the mill day we make anywhere between $300 and $400 for the evening shift. The last two times i worked we only made about $350 combined both days. But still i would much rather work the evening shift on a rainy day over a nice day.

Blogging

At the beggining of the year i made a written deal with ms. eastman which stated that i would blog for about 2 hours every week. I am starting to realize that this was not such a good idea because i now find myself in a bit of a bind. Today i need about 10 blogs to show ms. eastman and unfortunately i only have 4 or 5 and i only have about 45 minutes left to find some type of material to blog about so i can get full points for my blog. This is especially important because this class is required for me to graduate. I better find some type of material to blog about within the next 5 minutes here so i can get a good grade on my blog.

That Millenium Show

So now that we have our next group project before us we are expected to use a bit of imagination to create a 30 minute video which ends up teaching a lesson in the end. My group consists of 5 guys and of course what guy doesnt like That 70's Show? We're going to be doing a spoof off of that 70's show. I'm not allowed to say what the general plot of the video is because i am still unsure myself as to what it's going to be about. The point is you should definitely look for our video as it will be probably the best one in the class.

Moving Out

About a week ago i realized that i really wanted to move out of the house come fall time. I was planning on staying at home while i attended Oakland University for my first year then seeing where it goes from there. Well recently i have found myself getting very annoyed by my family and i don't get along with them a whole lot anymore so i decided to take action and move out. In the fall i will be moving out of my house and into a dorm with one of my best friends who is already attending Oakland University. The best part of this whole moving out thing is that i don't have to live in the freshman dorms. This is taking place because my friend who i will be living with is a sophomore in college and if we live together the only way we can do it is if he lives in the freshman dorms or i don't. And who would want to live with the freshman when you could live with the upper class man? Not me.

If I Had A Microphone I Would Say...

If i had a microphone and i could talk to the world i would tell them what i think. Not that it would do anything or make anyone change their way of going about their lives, but it would make me feel better. I would tell everyone how i think there is a severe lack of individuality among the population and how i think everyone should be true to themselves and be who they really are. I am very much aware that nobody would listen to me if i could talk to the world and i also know that most people would say that they are themselves, they are different, and they do whatever they want, but the sad reality of it is that most people are just followers. Followers of the media and their peers, most people are afraid to step outside the box of conformity and take a chance doing something else or something that may be considered "different". They just wait for some big media figure to start something then they follow. I guess if i had a microphone and i could talk to the world, this would be my message. Be yourself and step outside the box, dont wait for someone else to do it for you. Be yourself and stop carring who likes you because your true friends will like you for who you are. Kurt Cobain once said "i'd rather be hated for who i am than loved for who i am not". I feel thats how everyone should live their life.

Goal

My goal (if i had to make one up) for the remaining 6 weeks of my high school career would have to be to find proper motivation to stay awake and focused until i graduate. I fear i can not do this on my own and i'm hoping someone (possibly one of my peers or teachers) may help me attain my goal in one way or another. The only way i believe Ms. Eastman (or any of my teachers for that matter) may help me to reach this goal is to make class more interesting by veering away from the traditional conformist ways of teaching. I am aware that this is difficult in such classes as Honors Physics, Spanish 4, and Pre-Calc but i can still hope and ask for help.
